The Truth About Santa
I remember the moment well. My son, Jed, was in grade three. It was a few weeks before Christmas and he came home from school, looking puzzled. I didn’t realize it at the time, but I was about to have the moment parents fear most: I was going to have to explain to my child that his sainted mother, is, in fact, a Big Fat Liars.

“Hi, Hayley’s Mummy!” I was entering my daughter’s classroom for my weekly volunteer stint of reading with kids as part of the Early Literacy Program. Still, my head snapped around. Hayley’s Mummy? That’s it? I’d known these kids for years, and I was just someone’s Mummy?
